Before She Learns to Scroll, She’ll Learn Who She Is

More than anything, we want her to enter the digital world with a clear heart, not chasing approval, but carrying purpose.
To add beauty. Not noise.

To influence in the truest sense of the word: by being a light.

Lately I’ve been thinking about how easy it is to feel behind.

Even in a season that looks full from the outside — preparing to launch a book — I still find myself wondering if I missed my moment somewhere along the way.

Maybe y I didn’t write this book from a mountaintop.
I wrote it from a season I didn’t understand.

A porch.
A wind chime.
A small voice asking big questions.

That’s where this story began.

Available now — link in bio. A spring Friday.
No school.
Cookies.
A read-aloud.

Local friends, come celebrate the launch of The Wind & His Word with us at Humble Roots Collective on April 3rd (1-3 PM, drop-in).

Bring your kiddos. Bring a friend. Come say hello. This is exactly why I wrote The Wind & His Word.
For little hearts.
For the forming years.
For the moments that quietly shape a kiddo’s view of who God is.

My prayer for this book has always been simple — that children would know Her name is Ruby.
You’ll meet her soon.

March is getting closer…

#thewindandhisword Some collaborations feel strategic. This one felt appointed.

The Lord brought Cailey and me together, and we both said “yes” to something we’d never done before — two first-timers, learning and trusting as we went. Her braver This is about as close to politics as I’ll get in this page.

Not because I don’t care, but because I do.

I’m not inviting you to unfollow —
I’d like to invite you to stay. 🤍 What would change if we stopped praying apologetically… and started trusting instead?

Jesus invites us to pray like children — honest, hopeful, and unafraid to ask.

Maybe today, we start there. 🤍 We tend to treat margin like a reward — something we earn once everything is finished and everyone is cared for.

But Scripture shows us something quieter and more true.

Full Dear Mama letter on Substack. 🤍 This week in @compelprowriters, we talked about platform, and this prayer surfaced for me.

I don’t want influence without integrity, or visibility that outgrows vulnerability.

Scripture reminds us not to despise small beginnings — tha When I’m rushed, I’m less tender —
with my family, my words, even my own heart. 🤍

Margin, I’m learning, is where that tenderness is restored.

Where do you need it right now?
